About the Role:

As Manager, Global Program Management, Disease Area X (DAx) you will provide program management leadership to a range of early-stage, general medicine (non-oncology) drug development programs. In close partnership with the program team leaders, you will build high performing teams and drive the creation and execution of integrated strategic and operational plans for drug candidate programs from preclinical to Phase 2 development decision points.

Biomedical Research's (BR) Disease Area X (DAx) catalyzes and drives transformative therapies for emerging, high-potential indications in liver diseases, chronic kidney diseases, and respiratory diseases.

Your responsibilities:

  • Working with project team leaders and functional leaders to define project strategy, develop and maintain integrated project plans, and manage diverse teams across multiple sites to meet project timelines/goals

  • Continuously working to adapt project strategy based on internal and external information

  • Ensuring that key milestones and go / no go criteria are data driven and clearly defined. Make sure project information is accurate and included in the system(s) in a timely matter.

  • Communicating project status, issues and options for resolution to ensure optimal and timely information flow to all stakeholders

  • Fostering effective, proactive and open communication within and across project teams in order to achieve transparency and clarity of program goals, progress and issues

  • Working to build and maintain effective and high-performing teams focused on effective cross functional communication, decision-making and resolving issues

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • MS or PhD in life sciences, or MBA with BS degree, or equivalent experience in life science

  • Previous track record of success in working with international and multidisciplinary drug development teams.

  • 4+ years pharma industry experience

  • 3+ years of equivalent multi-/cross-functional leadership experience

  • Strong project / program management skills

  • Intermediate knowledge in drug development

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $126,000 to $234,000/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/25 through 12/31/25, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
